Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study focused on the changes in Choson Korea's trade with Qing China in the 18th century. As a result, there were goods that China strongly restricted exporting to Korea. Korea government promoted tribute trade while restricting border trade, and prevented Chinese merchants to enter Korea. There was a growing demand for ginseng within Korean society after the 17th century.
