Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Through a depth analysis on the negotiation process of the Nile Water Resources, this research aimed at examining the possibility of cooperative model of the usage of Nile Water between the East Nile Riparian states. After conducting extensive research on the political environment in the riparian States, the research reached to the following conclusions: (1) The attitude of riparian States on the negotiation process has been shaped by the internal politics dynamics of each state. On my June 2020th article in [Africa Report], I tried to discuss how the internal political actors in Sudan has leveraged the contentious regional political environment --specially the Nile Water Negotiation process-- to achieve their goals at home.(2) In a discussion paper published at IDE’s web site I explained how Bashir’s endorsement of the Grate Ethiopian Renaissances Dam as part of regime survival strategy had rallied Egypt against his regime and accelerated its collapse in April 2019.
