| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The main achievement during 2020, given covid restrictions, was the bring to near proposal completion my edited book on Myanmar. I have collected together a very broad range of scholars on Myanmar - established and young academics, Western/Japanese/Burmese - to tackle the topic of Myanmar's first period of democracy. Since the coup d'etat occurred in February 2021 as I was organising this book, the topic has become even more important and I am pushing hard to move even faster on the publication of this book.
Another achievement, brought about by covid, has been attendance at multiple "webinars". This new academic activity has allowed me to access people and ideas that I otherwise would not be able to hear from.
