Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
This project aims at identifying the determinants of changes in wage inequality. This project has developed a novel estimation approach to decompose firm wages into two components: the reservation wage and the wage rent. The methodology has been then be applied to French matched employer-employee data for manufacturing sectors. Furthermore, we have explored how trade affect the two wage components.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
I have used matched employer-employee data to estimate the model as developed in previous years. Furthermore, how two wage components are affected by trade is explored.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I plan to conduct robustness checks by decomposing wages using other models, and then check whether or not the effect of trade on newly estimated wage components are robust. A working paper draft will be completed and the results will be disseminated through academic conferences and workshops in Japan and overseas.
