Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Current research was conducted as planned. From the data analysis collected from both Japanese and Korean female managers,it was found that ambidextrous leadership practiced by female managers in both countries is effective to enhance employees' psychological capital. Also, the role of organizational support was clarified to increase leadership effectiveness. The findings went to public by being presented at an international conference as well as at a local conference,IAIR-CAFIC Joint conference in Shanghai and NDSU IC conference in Japan. Also, the research based on the findings was submitted to a journal, "The Aoyama Journal of International Politics, Economics and Communication" and it will be published soon.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
The present research is showing a smooth progress fortunately. Even if it was very challenging to collect data, I could manage the data collection by conducting survey and interviews. So, I could test the research model and draw findings. However, from the experience of data collection, I knew the difficulty of data collection and will need to come up another idea in data collection. Because of a small number of female managers, particularly in Japan, I may need to expand the research context by including other areas of industries with not being confined to a service industry. I believe that it will help me to obtain more number of valid data in Japan and in Korea as well.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I will follow the plan and place more efforts on this research to see satisfactory research achievements. From working on it, I’m being more confident about this study and its potential as one of promising research areas. Now, I’m planning a research collaboration with a researcher in Sweden to test this research model. It will be a great chance to test and extend this research in another cultural context, which can contribute to the female leadership studies.

Causes of Carryover |
Some plans on business travels and research expenditures were cancelled because of the COVID 19 pandemic spreading worldwide. I believe the unused research fund which will be rolled over to this fiscal year will be properly used for collecting data and necessary research activities.
