2018年9月25日に，図書『原場面に着目した数学的モデリング能力に関する研究－フッサール現象学の方法と応用反応分析マップを援用して－』を刊行した。本書は研究代表者がこれまで取り組んできた研究成果をまとめたものであり，問題解決過程の実際を視覚化する方法である応用反応分析マップには解決者の原場面を反映させている。応用反応分析マップでは現実に関係する原場面と数学に関係する原場面を区別しており，本研究課題の核心となる数学の臨界を射程に入れたモデリングの議論が可能となる。
2018年12月28日に，ラオス人民民主共和国・ビエンチャンのDong Khamxang Teacher Training Collegeで開催された国際数学理科教育学会（International Society for Mathematics and Science Education）が主催する第7回数学理科教育国際会議（7th International Conference of Research on Mathematics and Science Education）において，本研究課題の核心をなす学術的問いであるモデリングにおける数学の臨界について，口頭発表「Where is Criticality of Mathematics on Modelling Cycle?」をおこなった。
埼玉大学教育学部において解析学を担当している教員（専門分野は不等式や力学系）を被験者とするモデリング実験調査の準備を進めた。

研究成果の発信について，当初の計画では2019年11月に開催予定の日本数学教育学会第52回秋期研究大会において発表をおこなう予定であったが，2019年6月16日に金沢大学で開催される日本数学教育学会第7回春期研究大会の創成型課題研究「数学的モデリングサイクルと統計的探究プロセスの過程の関連性」において発表をおこなうことにした。既に，論文発表「モデリングにおける数学の臨界を議論する上での諸課題－Werner Blumが関わる図式における『Grundvorstellungen』や場面モデルに着目して－」の許諾を得ている。
当初の計画では，埼玉大学理学部教員（解析学専門）を被験者とするモデリング実験調査をおこなう予定でいたが，被験者を埼玉大学教育学部において解析学を担当している教員（専門分野は不等式や力学系）に変更し，2019年4月に実験調査を実施することになった。
2019年7月21－26日に，中華人民共和国香港特別行政区のThe University of Hong Kongで開催される第19回数学的モデリングと応用の指導に関する国際会議（19th International Conference on the Teaching of Mathematical Modelling and Applications）における口頭発表「A Mathematician’s Modelling Progress Displayed with Applied Response Analysis Mapping」の許諾を得ている。
以上より，「おおむね順調に進展している」と判断した。

2019年度は，当初の計画通り，中華人民共和国香港特別行政区のThe University of Hong Kongで開催される第19回数学的モデリングと応用の指導に関する国際会議（19th International Conference on the Teaching of Mathematical Modelling and Applications）で，口頭発表「A Mathematician’s Modelling Progress Displayed with Applied Response Analysis Mapping」をおこない，その成果を査読付き論文として投稿する。論文の投稿に向けて，本国際会議の際に，数学的モデリング・応用の国際教師集団（The International Community of Teachers of Mathematical Modelling and Applications）の会長であるGloria Stillman氏に助言を頂く。また，2019年12月に東南アジア地域（開催地未定）で開催予定の国際数学理科教育学会（International Society for Mathematics and Science Education）が主催する第8回数学理科教育国際会議（8th International Conference of Research on Mathematics and Science Education）で，研究の進捗について報告をおこなう。
新たな被験者を対象とするモデリング実験調査について準備を進めていく。
