Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In the last year of the grant period, I was involved in the publication of three papers related to its topic, two of which are published in the journal "Physics Letters B" and the third in “Physical Review D”. All of them were international collaborations, including researchers located in South Korea, China, Australia, Turkey and Germany. The first paper studied the ground and excited state spectrum of heavy baryons containing at least one charm quark, making use of lattice QCD. For the ground states, we found good agreement with experimental values and other theoretical calculations, while for the excited states we identified several candidates for novel states that were recently discovered at the LHC. In the second paper, the behavior of the J/Psi particle (made of a charm and anti-charm quark) in a hot environment was studied by combining the methods of QCD sum rules and the quark model. As a result, we could determine both the mass (shift) and the decay width as a function of temperature around the critical temperature T_c of the formation of the quark-gluon plasma. Finally, the third paper dealt with the question of the possibility of the existence of stable tetraquarks containing multiple charm and/or bottom quarks. We found that a particularly deeply bound state can be formed in a tetraquark with two bottom quarks and one anti-up quark and one anti-down quark. This state will hopefully be discovered in future experiments.
