超新星から明らかにする大質量星の爆発直前の未知の質量放出機構

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

多次元輻射輸送計算により、超新星親星の星周物質の多次元構造がどのように超新星観測量に影響を与えるのかを、特に光度曲線に着目して明らかにした。ディスク状に分布させた高密度星周物質と超新星爆発噴出物の衝突により光度曲線がどのように変化するかを、様々な星周物質の条件下で明らかにした。その結果、星周物質の多次元構造により超新星観測量が大きく影響を受けることが明らかになった。また、その影響は観測者がディスクをどの角度から観測しているかによって大きく依存することも明らかになった。特にディスクを真横から見る場合、超新星の光度曲線の立ち上がりが非常にゆっくりすることが分かり、星周物質の相互作用により明るくなる超新星の一部に見られる非常にゆっくりとした光度上昇と関係している可能性があることがわかった。また、観測する角度によっては光度曲線にいくつかのピークが現れることも明らかになり、超新星爆発噴出物と星周物質の相互作用によって明るくなる超新星の一部に見られる光度曲線のうねりと星周物質の多次元性が関係している可能性があることが明らかになった。今回明らかになった星周物質の多次元構造による影響は一部の超新星には見られるものの、多くの場合にははっきりと現れていない。このため、光度曲線の観点からは多くの場合は爆発直前に形成される超新星親星の星周物質は大まかには球対称性を持っていると考えても問題ない可能性があることが分かった。ただ、この結果はディスク状の星周構造を仮定して得られたものであるため、今後ディスク以外の多次元構造に関しても同様の計算を行い、確かめて行く必要がある。

当初の計画通り、星周物質の多次元形状の超新星観測量への影響を明らかにし、観測との比較を行った。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

爆発直前の大質量星の大規模な質量放出の原因は何かを解明する。その後、解明された大規模質量放出機構が働くために必要な素過程を整理し、どのようにすればその素過程が爆発数年前の大質量星に大規模質量放出を引き起こさせることが可能になるのかを明らかにする。爆発直前の質量放出機構が大質量星の進化の終末期だけに限らず、他の進化段階でも起こり得ないかどうかを検証し、解明された質量放出機構の恒星進化全体への影響を総合的に考察する。

Causes of Carryover

次年度使用額は2020年3月に共同研究者を招聘して議論を行うのに使用予定であった。しかし新型コロナウイルスの影響で3月の招聘が困難になったため、秋以降に招聘予定である。
