Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to establish clinical procedures for monolithic polyetheretherketone (PEEK) crowns and composite resin veneered PEEK crowns for molar regions. In the monolithic PEEK crown, the occlusal and axial tooth reductions were optimized with and without mechanical cycling. The monolithic PEEK crown has superior mechanical strength with 1.0-mm occlusal reduction and deep-chamfer finish line. In addition, the composite resin veneered PEEK crown has sufficient mechanical strength regardless of the framework design and veneered composite resin design.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
