Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The systematic review of the project has been published in the Journal of Intensive Care. The interviews in the UK have been completed and now they are analysed. UK experts in Intensive Care and EoL care were interviewed, alongisde palliative care experts with experience in ICU palliative care. I am at the process of conducting interviews with the Japanese colleagues. A translator has been added to the team, to support the interview process. Palliative Care experts and ICU physicians with special interest in EoL care have been listed for the project. The interviews will be completed by end of May 2023. The data analysis has been completed for the UK site, whilst the data analysis has started on the Japanese site, and already comparing results with UK site. The first results of the study will be communicated in the international conference of ACP in Singapore, May 2023 (oral presentation). I anticipate the study results and full analysis to be completed by September 2023. After agreement with research collaborators, we will finalise the results report in October 2023. We will then prepare the publication ( 2nd) of the project, in relation to interview results. We expect the project to close by the end of this year.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the interviews in both countries were slightly delayed. A business trip in the UK during March 2023 supported the completion of interviews on the UK site. However, we expect now to be completed within the next two months.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I anticipate that the Interviews will be completed in May 2023, with the support of a translator in Japan. The data analysis will be completed by September 2023. The first results will be shared in an international conference for advanced care planning ( Singapore 2023). The second manuscript for publication of the project is expected to be completed by December 2023 and submitted subsequently for publication. A full report of the project will start in January 2024. The projecgt is expected to be completed by March 2024.

Causes of Carryover |
The data collection was not competed. We will need the remaining money for the japanese site interviews costs and final publication
