Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The proposed research project is a randomized trial and intends to assess the impact of mobile phone short message service (SMS) intervention on antenatal care among pregnant women in Bangladesh. The estimated sample was 1800 women. Of the estimated sample size, 900 pregnant women will be assigned to mobile phone intervention group and 900 to control group. We made several progress on my mHelath project: developed protocol, received ethical clearance from Bangladesh medical and Research Council (BMRC), performed pilot test, and revised questionnaire based on pilot test results. In the phases of participants selection, I already completed 20,000 household census listing to indentified eligible pregnant women. From the census listing, I got 1400 pregnant women so far. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, the ongoing participants identification process stop.
