Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research plan consists of 2 main phases. First, a service-independent access control (AC) mechanism in information-centric networking (ICN) will be developed to be efficiently enforced by any network caching entities. Subsequently, a lightweight AC mechanism in ICN will be proposed that stands out as best for IoT systems. In this fiscal year, we have basically completed both phases. However, due to COVID-19, we need more time to improve the proposed mechanism through security analysis and performance evaluation.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.
Reason
As mentioned in the summary of research achievements. A service-independent access control (AC) mechanism in information-centric networking (ICN) has been developed that can be efficiently enforced by any network caching entities, and we have proposed a lightweight AC enforcement mechanism in ICN for IoT systems. It could be polished to perform better results. However, due to COVID-19, many research activities have been limited. Therefore, this project will be postponed for one more year. We believe that this project will have satisfactory results this year and benefit ICN-IoT.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
In this fiscal year, I will keep improving the proposed lightweight AC enforcement mechanism in ICN for IoT systems. The results will be published in international conferences as well as journals. Phase II) A lightweight AC enforcement mechanism in ICN for IoT system (2021.04-2022.03) II-2: Security analysis and performance evaluation. After that, we will summarize our achievements and prepare for publications.
|
Causes of Carryover |
In the next fiscal year, the budget will be used according to the plan and the necessity. If possible, some journals and conferences will be supported by this budget.
