Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The IoT has been established as an evolution of the Internet, where each object is interconnected. While much valuable personal privacy information is stored in IoT devices (such as monitors or cameras), IoT devices may become the target of malicious users. Hence, an Access Control (AC) mechanism in IoT is needed to protect data security. To meet this target, this project has presented a comprehensive survey of the state-of-the-art for AC in the context of Information-Centric Networking (ICN) and then proposed a service-independent AC mechanism in ICN that could be enforced by any network caching entities efficiently, tested their characteristics and, finally implemented a lightweight AC mechanism in ICN that stands out as best for IoT system.
