Outline of Final Research Achievements	While demand and production of livestock products continue to increase in developing countries, the spread of endemic zoonotic diseases (Neglected Zoonotic Diseases: NZD), which have already been conquered in developed countries, has become a major problem in the livestock sector. The purpose of this research is to understand the actual situation of the spread (prevalence) of NZD, which is almost unknown in developing countries, by collecting blood samples from livestock during field surveys in developing countries. We conducted an epidemiological intervention study focusing on “knowledge” and “incentives”. Based on agency theory, we examined the effects of mitigating economic externalities resulting from concealed behavior, comparing the “costs” required for countermeasures, and the expected economic “benefits”.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	家畜の感染症拡大の背景には、社会に埋め込まれた人間（農家）行動があり、これが感染症拡大の一要因であることが明らかとなった。これまでの途上国における家畜感染症対策は、感染症の知識提供やワクチン開発や接種などに重点がおかれてきた。農家行動も考慮した感染症対策を進めることで、より効果的な対策が実施できる可能性が示された。
