Research Abstract

ショウジョウバエを蚊の代替生物として用いることにより、蚊の体内における新規のマラリア原虫認識分子Furrowed の同定を行い、ハマダラカ中腸におけるパターン認識分子としてマラリア原虫排除因子として機能していることを明らかにした。また、吸血時に、腸内細菌数の一過性の急激な増加が起こることが明らかになり、これはFurrowed の発現上昇パターンと高い相関性を示し、ハマダラカにおけるマラリア原虫の排除には腸内細菌が関与している可能性が示唆された。
