電解析出法による金属ナノ触媒電極の創製

Research Abstract

本研究は、金属ナノ微粒子の"extra-ordinary electrocatalysis"の本質を解明する糸口として、金属ナノ微粒子のサイズ、結晶面、モルフォロジーなどが電極触媒能や電極反応機構にどのように関連するかを明らかにすることを目的とし、次の成果を得た。
1.タンタル酸化物電析白金電極は酸性溶液中において白金に優る酸素の4電子還元能を有することを見出した。
2.電解法で作製した含窒素官能基導入炭素電極上にAu(100)単結晶面に富む金ナノ微粒子を電解作製することに成功し、この金ナノ微粒子電極は水の電極酸化による酸素生成を著しく触媒することを見出した。
3.電解析出法(この場合アンダーポテンシャル デポジション法)により作製したスズアドアトム/金およびスズ-パラジウム2元金属/金複合電極が酸性水溶液中で酸素の4電子還元反応に対して電極触媒活性を示すことを見出した。これは金に接触したスズアドアトム(あるいはスズ-パラジウム2元金属触媒)と酸素分子との間で電子の軌道間相互作用が増加したことによると説明できた。
4.ヨウ化物イオン共存下で電解析出法により作製した金ナノ微粒子/炭素複合電極が、アノーディック・ストリッピングボルタンメトリー法を用いた砒素(3価イオン)の微量電気化学分析に対して高感度を示し、その有用性を明らかにした。
5.電析法で作製した金属被覆白金電極を、酸素雰囲気下で熱処理するとDSAタイプの金属酸化物被覆白金電極を与え、水素原子のスピルオーバー・逆スピルオーバー能を有することを明らかにした。
