Research Abstract |
In order to develop a new class of proton-conducting oxide materials, investigations have been made on low-temperature fabrication process, which avoids loss of protonic carrier during high-temperature treatment for synthesis. New proton-conducting materials have been developed, which retain appreciable amount of protons in their bulk structure incorporated during synthesis. In addition, a feasibility has been demonstrated for development of new proton-conducting materials based on nano-structured ceramics which make use of their weakly bonded grain boundary as a possible conduction path.
