Research Abstract

レーザー支持爆轟は,衝撃波とそれに隣接する電離波面の2層構造と考えられており,あるレーザー強度閾値以上では電離波面が衝撃波を駆動し続ける.この際に,レーザーエネルギーは効率よく流体の運動エネルギーに変換されるため,レーザー推進機やレーザーエネルギー変換装置への応用が研究されている.本研究は,実験的なアプローチを中心にしつつ,より一般的な爆轟波理論を構築することを目的とする.
(1)従来の炭酸ガスレーザー(波長10.6μm)と発振波長の異なるガラスレーザー(波長1.053μm)を用いて,レーザー爆轟終了条件,爆轟波エネルギー変換効率を調べるとともに,爆轟波背後の電子密度空間分布計測および電子温度履歴計測によって詳細な爆轟波構造を解明する.
(2)レーザー支持爆轟の物理的構造とその維持条件について,実験結果をもとにレーザー爆轟波理論を構築する.また,大気圧力依存性や雰囲気ガス種依存性を調べ,レーザー推進機やレーザーエネルギー変換器の設計に役立てる.
