Research Abstract |
We have developed an arrayed MgB2 sensor to detect thermal neutrons. Multiple sensors are well fabricated to exhibit almost the same superconducting characteristics. We carried out the neutron irradiation experiment at J-PARC. However, the second machine time was cancelled due to huge earth quake in Japan. Instead, we succeeded in doing the laser irradiation experiment using a pulsed laser with a computer-controlled XYZ stage, and demonstrated the good characteristics using a 2x2 CH MgB2 sensor.
