Research Abstract

心筋梗塞、心不全、心筋症など、臓器移植のみが根本的治療法の疾患に対して、臓器移植に代わる再生医療をめざす。ソースの細胞を、心臓由来幹細胞とした。その理由は、自己の心臓由来の幹細胞が最も心臓の再生に適合するであろうと考えたからである。また、幹細胞の性質あるいは心筋細胞へ分化のプロセスを研究することにより、さらに簡便な治療法の開発が可能と考えて、研究を進行させている。
