| Research Abstract |
リーシュマニア症は節足動物媒介性感染症でありかつ人獣共通感染症である。本研究ではL.donovani s.l.による旧大陸における内臓型リーシュマニア症とスリランカにおける皮膚型リーシュマニア症を対比させ、主として病原虫、および媒介昆虫(サシチョウバエ)の分子レベルでの比較解析により、また保虫動物の関与の程度を明らかにし、さらに合併症の有無、地理的およびヒトを含む関連生物の生態学的位置付けを考慮して多角的アプローチによりL.donovani s.l.がどうして内臓型あるいは皮膚型何れかの病態を示すのかという点に注目し、分子レベルでの解析により、内臓型リーシュマニア症の病態疫学を明らかにする。
