Research Abstract |
This research was a detailed examination of imitations of art objects in the East/Japan as well as the West, based on analysis of related materials and investigation of objects, together with close inspection of individual examples and including comparative research, also shedding light on religious outlooks, political contexts, and societal conditions during the period. Not settling for the act of merely tracing art copies, I also clarified the multiplicity of meanings that resulted from the transformation of the concept of "imitation". I obtained comprehensive results that can perform a barometer-like role in this field.
