本研究プロジェクトは,マントルウェッジの背弧側,火山フロント,前弧側,海溝からそれぞれ採取されたカンラン岩の構造解析を進めた結果,日本列島の土台となっているマントルウェッジの最上部マントルは,海洋プレートのものと類似した構造をしていることがわかった.
