| Research Abstract |
ヒメツリガネゴケPpCLF 遺伝子は配偶体世代で胞子体多能性幹細胞(胞子体頂端細胞)形成を抑制する働きを持っていることがわかった。そして、受精後にその発現が消失することによって、受精卵は胞子体幹細胞を形成し、胞子体幹細胞が活性を持つ間、胞子体は伸長を続ける。従って、ヒメツリガネゴケPpCLF 遺伝子はシロイヌナズナCLF 遺伝子と異なり栄養成長を抑制し、生殖成長を促進する働きがあることがわかった。このことから、PpCLF 遺伝子のターゲットの変化によって、陸上植物の2倍体世代延長が引き起こされた可能性が高いことがわかった。
