Research Abstract

細胞分裂は生物の増殖・再生にとって必須の過程であり、分裂面の決定は多細胞生物の発生・分化にとって重要である。動物細胞や酵母は分裂期に分裂面の細胞膜直下に形成される「収縮環」の収縮により分裂する。この構造は主としてアクチンフィラメントとII型ミオシン(以下ミオシン)から成り、これらの相互作用によって収縮する。収縮環の形成位置(細胞の分裂位置)の決定機構、収縮環の形成機構の問題はこの分野の中心的課題である。そこで分裂シグナル伝達の機構とそれを受けて収縮環がどのように形成され、収縮するかを分子レベルで解明したい。
