Research Abstract

細胞における脂質の機能の多くはまだ謎として残されている。われわれは脂質の機能を「脂質を見る」ことによって理解しようとしている。われわれのターゲットの一つは脂質ラフトに代表される細胞表面の脂質ドメインであり、もう一つのターゲットはエンドソームおける脂質ドメインである。この2つの脂質ドメインはコレステロールを介して構造的にも機能的にも深く関連している。本課題においてわれわれはライセニンとデュラマイシンという2つの脂質を見るためのプローブについて解析を進めるとともに、エンドソームの脂質ドメインについてモデル膜および培養細胞を用いた詳細な研究を行った。さらにこれらの研究を通してコレステロールの細胞内のホメオスタシスについて新しい知見を得ることができた。
