Research Abstract

1.平成20年1-3月及び平成21年2-3月に、カナダのFort Smith、Gillamで30Hzのサンプル間隔で画像取得ができる高時間分解能のカメラを用いてキャンペーン観測を行い、平成21年度はこのデータ解析を行った。これらの結果から、オーロラサブストームの開始時におけるオーロラの微細構造を、2次元フーリエ変換を用いて解析し、5秒程度の時間内に小さい構造が大きい構造に発展していく様相を明らかにした。また、パッチ構造を持つオーロラの中に見られる不安定構造を新たに見出し、その結果を詳細に解析した。さらに、パルセィティングオーロラとTHEMIS衛星との同時観測データを解析し、パルセィティングオーロラのソースとなる磁気圏での粒子や波動の構造を明らかにした。
2.Resolute Bay, Athabascaで平成17年から開始している高感度分光全天カメラ(2カ所)、プロトンフォトメータ(Athabasca)、誘導磁力計(Athabasca)による自動観測は、平成21年度も継続した。
3.この2カ所の全天カメラのデータから、大気光中に見られる極冠域パッチ構造や中規模伝搬性電離圏擾乱の動態を明らかにした。
4.さらに高時間分解能の110Hzのサンプル間隔で画像を取得することができるEMCCDカメラを別途予算で開発し、平成22年1-3月に、アラスカ・フェアバンクスにおいて、オーロラのテスト観測を行った。
5.これらのキャンペーン・定常観測の情報をホームページや国内外の学会で公開し、共同研究を促進した。
