Research Abstract |
Count data on the catch of non-target species (bycatch) such as sharks can have many zero-valued observations. We proposed a statistical method to analyze the influence of environmental and operational conditions to bycatch counts and to estimate temporal trend of abundance of bycatch species. We also proposed the generalized principle component analysis (GPCA) method to analyze the species association.
