| Research Abstract |
筋萎縮性側索硬化症(amyotrophic lateral sclerosis : ALS)は、大脳と脳幹、脊髄の運動ニューロンが選択的かつ進行的に変性・脱落する神経変性疾患である。本研究では、一塩基多型(single nucleotide polymorphism : SNP)を用いて大規模ゲノム関連解析を行い、ALSと有意な相関を示すSNPを発見した(P=7.6X10^<-10>)。SNP周辺の詳細なゲノム解析を行い、新規ALS感受性遺伝子としてALSC1を同定した。本研究で発見したSNPは、本邦のみならず、アジアで初めて発見されたALS関連SNPである。
