Research Abstract

糖ヌクレオチド輸送体Slc35d1およびSlc35d2の遺伝子変異マウスを利用し、これらの分子が媒介するグリコサミノグリカン(GAG)合成の、生体内における機能を検証した。その結果、これら分子はGAG合成を介して、軟骨成長板や毛胞、マスト細胞の内顆粒の機能発現に必要であることが判明した。さらに、SLC35D1遺伝子の欠損がヒト骨系統疾患である蝸牛様骨盤異形成症の原因であることも突き止めた。
