| Research Abstract |
本研究は、17世紀フランス古典主義美術を代表する画家ニコラ・プッサンの作品制作において、ラファエッロと古代の美術が果たした役割について再検討を加えたものである。画家が、両者を意識的に採用し、同化していった理由には、画家の資質や思想の表明だけではなく、フランス人の顧客を獲得しようとするプッサンの戦略的な意図が存在していたことを当時の資料から検証し、そうした背景を踏まえながら、画家の作品の中で、ラファエッロと古代の美術が果たした役割と両者の関係について、制作論の立場から新たな視点を提示した。
