Research Abstract |
The purpose of this studies is to reveal the role of members of the House of Peers selected from among the large taxpayers. It is thought that their political action left little impression on the House, but a large number of historical documents on them in Hiroshima, Kagawa and Gifu prove that their action was of importance at the House of Peers. Moreover, I listed Visct.Tani Kanjyou Papers, who was the leader of the members in the House of Peers, and investigated the Papers. As a result, the significance of the role of the House of Peers is clarified.
