| Research Abstract |
「社会都市」とは、第二帝政期のドイツにおいて様々な都市問題に対応するために、広い意味での社会政策の実施を課題とする「給付行政」を国家に先駆けて実施し、住民全体に一定の生活条件を保障し、都市社会の統合をはかった都市自治体ないしその機能と捉えることができる。ヴァイマル期に入り「社会国家」が形成される過程で、都市行政は再編を余儀なくされたものの社会政策の担い手であり続けたのであり、「社会都市」は単純に「社会国家」に取って代わられたわけではない。
