| Research Abstract |
本研究は、聞き取り調査とその分析を中心にして、水俣病が生起した時期において、人々が水俣病をどのようなものととらえていたのか、当時の生活の変容とともに考察する試みである。その中で、多くの人々が、危険なのは弱った魚であるといった日常知に基づく解釈のもと、魚介類を食べ続けたことが明らかになった。また、この時代は、水俣においても、都市的生活様式の普及が急速に進み、地縁、血縁が希薄化し、家族の独立性が高まったことが示唆された。
