| Research Abstract |
代表者が開発した高速シークエンサーを用いた転写開始点の大量同定法をシロイヌナズナに適用し、16万もの転写開始点タグを同定した。この解析結果を統計解析することで、植物コアプロモーターの多様性を初めて解明できた。16万の転写開始点タグは24,453の転写開始点クラスター、すなわちプロモーターとして認識されその過半数はこれまで知られていなかったものである。そのうち、10,285のプロモーターが9,627の遺伝子(CDS)に関連づけられ、差分の658がプロモーターを複数持つ遺伝子として同定することができた。この結果は代表者らが作成した植物プロモーターデータベースppdbにより検索可能である。
