| Research Abstract |
活性酸素によるタンパク質合成(翻訳)の阻害機構、および翻訳のレドックス制御と光合成の環境応答との関係を、原核光合成生物ラン藻を用いて研究した。タンパク質合成の阻害が、活性酸素による翻訳因子EF-Gの特定のシステイン残基の酸化と、ジスルフィド結合の形成によることが明らかになった。また、このジスルフィド結合が光合成電子伝達体チオレドキシンによって還元され、EF-Gが活性化することもわかり、翻訳と光合成がレドックス制御によってリンクしていることが示唆された。
