| Research Abstract |
薬物代謝酵素の一つである硫酸転移酵素(SULT)は、様々な外来性異物に硫酸基を転移することで、主に解毒を行っている酵素である。SULTが多様な外来性異物に対して反応する仕組みは、基質の形状に対応してSULTの基質結合部位の構造が変化することによって行われていることを明らかにした。この結果は、SULTの持つ広い基質特異性の構造基盤の一端を明らかにしたものと考えられる。
