Research Abstract

ミオシンファイブはアクチン線維上を-方向に運動する代表的な二本'足'型分子モーターである。足首の角度変化を光学顕微鏡で初めて直接観察した。ATPの結合により角度変化が開始すること、変化した足首の角度が数十秒間安定に保たれた後、元の角度に戻ることを明らかこした。この角度の安定性により、負荷存在下においてもミオシンファイブが一方向に運動できることを説明し、新たな運動機構を示した。
