Research Abstract

本研究では、食品由来のフラボノイド類が、老化やいくつかの病態に関与すると考えられる生体レドックスバランスの維持にどのような影響を及ぼすか調べた。その結果、いくつかのフラボノイドは、シスチン・グルタミン酸トランスポーターの働きを介して細胞内外のレドックスを還元方向にシフトさせることがわかった。また、この効果を現すフラボノイドには、構造的な共通性があることが示唆された。一方、このトランスポーターの個体レベルでの働きには、生体にとって有利になる場合と不利になる場合があることが明らかとなった。
