| Research Abstract |
近年のインドでは、国民所得の著しい成長が見られる一方で、経済成長の恩恵をうける機会から見放されているかにみえる農村地域も存在する。その典型例が、東インドの「部族ベルト」ともいわれる天水稲作地域である。その厳しい自然・社会現状を把握すると共に、それらの悪条件を少しでも克服しつつ貧困削減の実効を挙げるために必要な条件を探り、より効果的な政策立案に資することを目標としている。より具体的には、1998年と2006年の家計調査データに基づくパネルデータを用いて(特に新品種導入の意思決定と非農業収入拡大の行動を中心に)貧困農家の行動を分析すると共に、インド統計研究所の協力により環境保全型の稲作技術改良の実験的導入の効果測定を目的とする。
