Research Abstract

メタボリック症候群および動脈硬化症は、いずれも疾患のベースに炎症性反応の関与があることが明らかになりつつある。炎症性反応は炎症性サイトカインなどに依って惹起されるので、これらの遺伝子の多型と疾患の関連を検討した。その結果、動脈硬化度と炎症性サイトカインであるTNFα、IL-1β、TGFβの機能的な遺伝子多型のとの関連を見出した。この事は動脈硬化を起こしやすい、易炎症性体質が存在する可能性を示唆している。
