| Research Abstract |
研究代表者は転写因子であるHNF-1α遺伝子異常によりインスリン分泌不全型糖尿病が発症すること、コレクトリンがHNF-1αの標的遺伝子であり、インスリン分泌促進作用を有していることを見出した(Nature 1996, Cell Metabolism 2005)。本研究の結果、コレクトリンは膜貫通領域の近傍で切断されてそのN末が細胞外へ放出されることが判明した。分泌型コレクトリンの抗体がインスリン分泌のマーカーになりえるものと考えられた。
