Research Abstract

ヒト気道上皮細胞におけるマトリックスメタロプロテアーゼ13(MMP13)の発現、分泌はPAMPs (pathogen associated molecular patterns)やインターフェロン(IFN)によって増加した。
MMP13 siRNAは、MCP-1とRANTESなど複数のサイトカインの分泌を抑制した。以上の結果から、MMP13 は、気道上皮への微生物の侵襲や感染による気道上皮の炎症性サイトカイン分泌の制御に関係していることが示唆された。MMP13 遺伝子の発現量は喘息における急性感染症時の気道炎症増悪の程度に関連する可能性があると考えられた。
