Research Abstract

ヒト神経芽腫cDNAライブラリーから予後良好群と予後不良群の間で発現に差の認められる遺伝子を大量に同定したところ、予後良好群において発現の高い遺伝子として依存性受容体UNC5H4が同定された。そこでUNC5H4の機能解析を行ったところ、UNC5H4はp53の標的遺伝子でありアポトーシス誘導能を持つことが判った。
また、そのアポトーシス誘導能は、UNC5ファミリーのリガンドであるnetrin-1によって抑制されることが明らかとなった。従って、UNC5H4は神経芽腫の細胞死において重要な役割を果たすことが示唆された。
