Research Abstract

空腹を起こし、その結果食事の量を増やす作用を持つグレリンという物質の作用を、麻酔を施したラットを用いて検討した。グレリンを脳に投与すると胃の弛緩が生じ、嚥下の頻度が減少することが明らかとなった。胃の弛緩は食事の量が増えても胃に適切に食事が収まるように、胃の容量を広げてやる作用があることを示している。嚥下の頻度の減少の意味を明らかにするには、さらなる研究が必要である。
