Research Abstract

近年、歯周病や歯の喪失がさまざまな生活習慣病の危険因子になる可能性が指摘されている。この研究は、歯周病が生活習慣病の発症や増悪に働く分子メカニズムを解明する目的で行なわれた。歯周病の原因菌であるジンジバリス菌をマウスに感染させると典型的な高脂血症を呈した。感染によって、生活習慣病予防因子の血中アディポネクチンやレプチンは減少し、危険因子であるTNFαが増加した。解剖学的には肝臓および膵臓に異常を認めた。この菌の病原因子であるジンジパインという酵素を欠損した菌では、このような変化は軽微であったことから、本菌がジンジパインを介して、動脈硬化症や糖尿病増悪をきたすことが示唆された。
