| Research Abstract |
ダウン症候群(DS)が「生活習慣病」である歯周病, 動脈硬化を早期より進行することにフリーラジカルによる酸化ストレスが関与するエビデンスとして, DS患者の唾液において酸化ストレスマーカーである8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine(8-OHdG)を指標にして相関関係を確認した。炎症性サイトカインであるIL-1β, TNF-α刺激により, フリーラジカルが濃度依存的に増大することを確認した。また, 唾液をサンプルとしてフリーラジカルを消去する抗酸化能評価法を本研究プロジェクトの過程で開発し, 小動物の生体内酸化ストレス評価も可能になったことから, トリソミー21動物モデル(ダウン症候群モデルマウス)に移行する素地は現在整った。
