Research Abstract

放電プラズマ焼結法による温度(1000℃)・圧力(80MPa)の条件下で、フッ素で修飾された多層カーボンナノチューブ(MWCNTs)を焼結し、脱フッ素により活性化した「炭素」を持つナノチューブ同士を結合させることにより、MWCNT固化体の作製を行った。その物性は3点曲げ強度125MPa、ヤング率15GPa(市販のグラファイトの4倍)、電気導電率2.1×102 S/cmであり、脱フッ素による炭素同士の結合が、高強度のMWCNT集合体を作製することに有効であることを世界ではじめて明らかにした。
