Research Abstract |
In this project, we attempted to elucidate the effects of prostaglandin D_2 (PGD_2) which is well-known as a sleep promoter on vascular function. We found that (1) PGD_2 strongly inhibits vascular permeability through its distinct receptor DP, (2) DP agonism represents strong inhibition on tumor vascular permeability, angiogenesis, and growth, (3) While PGD_2 decreases blood pressure through DP activation, excessive amount of PGD_2 can stimulate other PG receptor TP and then increases blood pressure. We published these results in 12 scientific journals and presented in 15 research conferences.
