Research Abstract

神経幹細胞に強く発現するRNA結合蛋白質Musashi1の標的RNAを生化学的な手法を用いて精製し同定する試みを行った。その結果、神経幹細胞においては蛋白質発現が非常に弱いが神経細胞へと分化するに伴って蛋白質発現が上昇して機能する遺伝子のmRNAがMusashi1の標的RNAとして新たに同定された。Musashi1はその遺伝子のmRNAに対し、Musashi1結合配列を介して翻訳を抑制することが試験管内の実験により明らかとなった。
